Stem Cell Therapy for Ice Pick Acne Scars

Acne is a very troubling skin condition to say the least. Not only do you have to deal with the bright red blemishes of an acne breakout, you might also have to deal with the ugly “ice pick” scars acne leaves in wake. At one point, it was believed you could never get rid of these marks. Now, a combination of stem cell and micro needling (derma pen) therapy can help get rid of those awful scars.

Stem cell therapy is a new form of peel. As the name suggests, the peel is comprised of stem cells. The peel is placed over the scarred surface of the skin and, when it is removed, a layer of the pot marked skin is removed. This is not the only benefit to the stem cell peel method. The stems cells promote the healing and rejuvenation of the skin. In doing so, new, healthy layers of skin replace the old, damaged ones. The anti-inflammatory benefits of stem cells help reduce the onset of future redness.

Micro needling can then be used to helps create very small punctures on the skin, which contribute to the body’s production of both production of collagen and elastin. As a result, the skin can look as good as new thanks to careful and consistent use.

You do not have to feel helpless if you are suffering from the presence of acne scars on your face or elsewhere. The innovative combination of stem cell peels and micro needling can make all those scars fade into a distant memory.
