PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) The 21st Century Filler

Since the Swiss innovation in 2008 of PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) to treat burns, the advanced treatment has evolved into a new filler for the face. Use of the patient’s own blood to create the PRP has given the procedure the humorous name of “Vampire Facelift” in the US. But, things have changed. Scientific advances have allowed us now to use PRP as a filler for lines and for lips. We add special proteins to the filler derived from the patient’s own blood to thicken it and the gel-like substance is injected into targeted areas like nasolabial folds and hollow cheeks to rejuvenate the look of the patient and to enhance a patient’s natural beauty. The procedure is safe and simple for the patient as well as being cost effective by comparison with the traditional hyaluronic based fillers produced in laboratories.
