About Juvederm

Juvederm contains hyaluronic acid skin fillers that are injected into the skin to reduce the appearance of lines, folds and facial winkles. While it isn’t recommended for use in lip augmentation, Juvederm can be used as a lip filler.

When it is injected into the skin, Juvederm works as a cushioning agent. It also holds water inside your skin, helping to give you a more youthful appearance. Because this treatment contains hyaluronic acid, your skin looks smoother after treatment.

In using this cosmetic procedure, you won’t have to go back to your doctor’s office every month. Instead, you’ll be able to enjoy your healthy, youthful appearance for 9 to 12 months after injection.

Some Juvederm preparations, such as Juvederm XC, have been made with lidocaine which makes injection less painful for you.

Using Juvederm as a Lip Filler

As you grow older, you may notice tiny lines around and on your lips. Juvederm can help “erase” these lines. Compared to other hyaluronic gel fillers, Juvederm has a soft, smooth feel to it.

Juvederm should only be injected by a licensed doctor. Any side effects you notice should disappear within one week.
