Taking proper care of your skin requires a lot of time and effort. From proper dieting, hydration to avoiding certain products and environments. Sometimes all of these efforts and trails fall short and patients still are not satisfied with their skin. At MetroMD we provide the tools and resources to our patients enabling them to live a lifestyle that is correlated with overall health and a strong healthy appearance.

However, in some cases, years of mistreatment of the skin can lead to scars and blemishes in the skin. For these cases, we recommend a variety of treatments depending on the individual. Today we will give you a breakdown of the various skin treatments offered here at MetroMD!

The C02 Fractional Laser

The C02 Fractional Laser has been a very popular and effective skin treatment laser treatment here at MetroMD. The laser begins by deeply penetrating and removing the skin’s outer layer, the epidermis. Targeting a specific damage area, the CO2 laser will rejuvenate the skin one layer at a time. The resurfacing technique creates a tightening effect through collagen stimulation. As the process continues, the damaged skin will show signs of improvement by greatly reducing the appearance of the acne scars, blemishes, and wrinkles.

The Carbon Peel

The carbon peel is a revolutionary laser treatment that is completely painless with minimal-to-zero downtime. It is highly beneficial for people with oily skin, blackheads, enlarged pores, dull skin, and acne on the face or body. It is also an excellent way to exfoliate and refresh your skin, providing an instant refreshed appearance and leaving skin feeling softer, smoother and firmer.

A layer of liquid carbon is applied to the skin, where it penetrates deep into the pores. Laser light is highly attracted to the carbon particles. When the laser is passed over the area, it destroys the carbon, taking dead skin cells, contaminants and oil with it.

Microneedling

Microneedling is an effective anti-aging treatment using tiny, short needles that puncture the skin superficially to rebuild collagen and elastin. The needles penetrate tiny holes into the skin to allow for ideal absorption of skincare or PRP (platelet rich plasma) and produce a tightening effect of the skin.

When an injury occurs on the skin, the body’s natural response is to produce a flood of collagen and elastin to go in and repair the damage. Using the handheld micro-needling device, your practitioner creates controlled micro injuries which leads to multiple cosmetic and skin health benefits.
