How to Inject HGH

Human Growth Hormone (HGH) injections come in different varieties and dosages. The doctor will show a patient how to inject HGH, but the dosage depends on the purpose of the therapy and the result of the patient’s blood work. Hormone therapy may be given to slow signs of aging, for growth issues or to improve athletic endurance, but all treatment follows a thorough battery of testing and an examination. In the case of an adult, injections are usually self administered. If a child is being treated, an adult would administer the injection.

Best time to administer HGH

Timing is important with HGH therapy. Eating immediately before or after having a hormone injection is not recommended. HGH will work better when taken two hours after a meal.

A physician will recommend the best time of day to take the HGH injection. There are some differences of opinion as some believe the morning is best, while others recommend night time. The most recent studies indicate that an injection immediately before bed offers the most benefit. This enables the body to closely imitate the natural cycle of the pituitary gland, which circulates growth hormone through the body in a series of pulses as a person sleeps.

Frequency of injections

The protocol for HGH injections is usually once a day. This frequency has been found to improve memory and sleep, promote weight loss and restore vitality. Children being treated for growth issues can experience growth of three inches or more over several years of treatment.

Recommended injection sites

A physician will help determine the best place to inject the hormone. The most frequently used areas are the abdomen, thigh, buttocks or upper arms. The abdomen is the most comfortable area and easily accessible for self injection.

If you have any questions on how to inject HGH, speak with your doctor.
